Carl Mertens Metz kitchen knives: craftsmanship and innovation
In the Carl Mertens Metz collection craftsmanship and innovation come together. The name Metz, Solings dialect for knife was definitely chosen for a reason. This collection is comprised of everything a good kitchen knife needs.
The razor-sharp blades are made from Cromova steel. They are extra broad and, in terms of design, inspired by Austrian design. With these Carl Mertens knives anything is possible.
The knives from this collection are designed by the design agency from Dusseldorf called Squareone. They are enhanced with a sabre grind which means that the blade has a fold, about two-thirds in – located at the base of the handle. As a result the blade becomes thinner at this point, ending up in a razor-sharp edge. This doesn’t only give the knives a unique look and feel, it also ensures that they are a lot lighter in terms of weight.
The strong blade seamlessly merges with the stylish handle made from oiled European walnut wood. Because of the choice of materials and the length the handle feels great in hand: the entire palm of your hand can lean on the handle. In addition, it looks stylish and tough. These knives are not only functional, they also look amazing.
