The Böker Plus Wasabi carbon fibre 01BO632 is a light-weight gentleman's knife, designed by Kansei Matsuno. This Japanese knife maker is known for the unique combination between traditional Japanese knife making and modern techniques. This Böker Wasabi is the perfect example.
The Böker Wasabi is a knife you use to cut a nice piece of steak in a good restaurant. The incredibly slim profile and thin blade make it perfect to cut meat, vegetables and fruit. A real gentleman's knife.
You open the 440C steel blade with the front flipper. This is a small latch which protrudes from the front of the handle that will help you open the knife. When opened the blade is kept in place by a slipjoint mechanism. In this case a detent slipjoint which, on the inside of the handle, is enhanced with two latches with detent balls that ensure the blade stays open. Not a real lock, so you can also easily close it, but enough to spare your fingers during use.
There are many different versions of the Böker Plus Wasabi. This version is enhanced with a sleek carbon fibre handle. A high-tech material that is also used in race and aerospace industry. Incredibly strong and it feels great in hand.
