The Fox Parang Bushcraft is a special fixed knife. The design is loosely based on the typical South-East Asia parang. Simply put: the Asian machete. The Parang Bushcraft has the features of this machete, but comes in a smaller size so it can be worn on a belt as well.
The blade is made of Austrian Böhler N690Co steel. A steel type you can sharpen well and which is also resistant to rust. The top of the blade has a black Hydroglide-coating. This is water repellent and also ensures that the blade cuts easier.
The handle is made of Forprene. It feels like rubber and offers good grip in different positions. The locations of the jimping (grip grooves on the back) show in which different ways the parang can be held.
The Fox Parang Bushcraft comes with a in a cordura MOLLE-compatible belt sheath. Fox has also added a survival kit with several useful items such as a razor blade, sewing kit, wire saw, firesteel and many other useful items. This set comes in a lockable box with nylon sheath. It is MOLLE-compatible and can be placed on the front of the sheath of the knife, or for example on a MOLLE-compatible backpack.
