Resin bound whetstone 12000 grit (12K)

This sharpening stone uses resin to bind the abrasives, in this case white aluminium oxide.  

It does not soak up water and therefore does not require frequent wetting. Super Stones wear slowly and maintain a constant sharpening effect.  

  
  


Splash with water before and during sharpening, do not soak or store in water.  
  

**About grit sizes**  

Whetstones come in various grit sizes. The higher the number, the finer the grit. A finer grit results in a sharper knife. Sharpening a really dull knife on a fine grit will take much time, so you will need to treat it on a coarser grit first.  
  



* 120 - 600: Appropriate when real dull knives need to be brought back in the right shape

* 800 - 1,000: Appropriate to sharpen knives that were already in a reasonable state

* 2,000 - 3,000: For a result sharper than most knives are when they leave the factory

* 5,000 - 12,000: To polish the knife and get a razor sharp edge

deze steen is gewoon veel te zacht en is daar door amper bruikbaar 
afrader 1ste klas 

Der Endstein für mein Rasiermesser ... Topp

Lang zitten twijfelen of ik deze zou toevoegen aan mijn set. Ik wilde hem gebruiken voor mijn scheermes maar natuurlijk ook voor mijn overige messen. De steen maakt dat de snede van het mes (de vouw) gaat blinken als een spiegel. Het mes wordt dan ook superscherp. De reden om niet hoger te gaan dan een 8 is omdat ik de steen toch wel erg zacht en kwetsbaar vind. Je schraapt gemakkelijk materiaal waardoor het oppervlak beschadigd. 

Heerlijke steen om mijn scheermes op te slijpen. gebruikte altijd een Belgische coticule, maar dit is een merkbaar verschil. Is echt haarscherp, moet erg oppassen mezelf niet te snijden, wat gemakkelijk gebeurt.

Habe meine Kochmesser mit dem Stein geschliffen ,tolles Ergebnis,
rasierklingenscharf.
