**Fenix FD40: the first Fenix torch that can focus**


The Fenix FD40 has a wide beam to light a broad path, or can be focused to a really small beam to focus on one specific point. This flashlight can be adjusted to your needs and fits easily inside your pocket. Twist the head to conveniently find the light suitable for you. The combination of the XP-L High Intensity LED, 5 light modes and innovative reflector will come in handy in any situation.


The FD40 can be operated by the stainless steel switch which has a lock-out mode. This prevents accidentally turning the light off. This flashlight works on a 26650 battery but can also take an 18650. To make the 18650 fit, a battery sheath comes with the torch. The torch can be mounted on a tripod so you have both hands free during while making photo’s or camping.

Na eerst een andere Fenix gekocht te hebben, deze geretourneerd via een zeer duidelijke gebruiksaanwijzing. Het geld was binnen de korste keren teruggestort.

Vervolgens deze Fenix FD40 gekocht, ik wist niet dat een kleine LED-lantaarn zo'n bom aan licht kon verspreiden. 
Alle vroegere zaklantaarns, zelfs mijn Maglite 4D, vallen hierbij in het niet. Tevens is de bouwkwaliteit ongelofelijk degelijk en solide. Had in 1e instantie mijn twijfels daar het uit China kwam, maar die zorg was snel weg.
Duitse degelijkheid zou ik zeggen en dat straalt ie ook uit. Leuk om mee te spelen als ik 's-avonds de hond uit laat, maar ook zeer welkom in donkere gebieden en op de camping.
Jarenlang nam ik mijn Maglite mee, maar dat was nogal een gewicht.
Deze Fenix FD40 ligt zeer goed in de hand, is licht en heeft in totaal 5 lichtstanden, een stroboscoop en een draaibare focus.
Ik raad iedereen wel aan er een Fenix ARE-X1 lader en Fenix ARB-L4-4800 26650 Li-ion-accu bij te kopen, daar deze het meeste licht verspreid. Tevens heb ik er NiteCore SG7 siliconenvet bij gekocht om de schroefdraden lekker in te vetten, waardoor alles zeer soepel in elkaar draait. Opbrengen met een wattenstaafje is het makkelijkste. 

Dit zal zeker niet mijn laatste koop bij Knives and Tools zijn.

Ben er zeer blij mee en zal iedereen aanraden deze lamp te kopen. Tevens is de afwikkeling van de order bij Knives and Tools uitstekend.

FD40 aangeschaft vanwege focus mogelijkheid en statiefbevestiging.
De focus werkt ,ik had er iets meer van verwacht.
De bundel word in ieder geval minder wijds.
De statiefbevestiging heb ik tot mijn verbazing al twee keer gebruikt bij klussen. is erg handig,ben daar erg blij mee.
Verder geeft lamp ruim voldoende licht voor mijn gebruik in en om het huis.
Batterijgebruik was ook een optie, omdat ik meerdere lampen heb , gekozen voor de 18650 met opvulring. Dit werkt perfect en hierdoor hoef ik geen extra lader te kopen en heb ik in alle lampen zelfde soort batterij.
Verder heeft hoesje een nylonlipje waarmee hij aan een haakje in meterkast hangt.De vorige lamp had een hard plastic ring aan zijn foedraal, dit was makkelijker pakken,waardoor je foedraal met lamp geheel pakte. Nu haal ik lamp in meterkast uit foedraal.
Verder is de lens niet met vlakke glazen afdekplaat,maar is de lens met druppelvorm in het midden ook echt zo gevormd. Geen probleem natuurlijk,maar gaat door mijn hoofd dat dit eerder kan beschadigen.
De lamp ligt prettig in de hand, heeft aan/ uit knop met standen ouderwets bovenop.Dit is prettig in gebruik bij de rest van de familie.En daardoor kan lamp ook in kandelaarsstand.
Al met al prima lamp voor doel waarvoor hij gekocht is.
Had mijn oude lamp vervangen( tk35) die wel feller en robuuster leek, maar deze voldoet uitstekend.
Wilde graag focusmogelijkheid,maar in praktijk is vooral de statiefschroef icm met ministatiefje superpraktisch.




GEWELDIG,,  deze zaklamp is van super kwaliteit.  Je kan een heel groot bereik verlichten.  Dat ding gaat overal mee.. AANRADER!!! 

Het toestel doet perfect wat ervan verwacht wordt.
