It does what I want it to do very nicely; certainly better than traditional methods.

The clamp is quite loose when placed on the extra holder - which you really need to buy to keep a steady grip. The answer is to grip the holder and the clamp at the same time. The guide rods were all in need of slight straightening and this was not as easy as you would hope - when you straighten one part, another went out of line ! Possible they distort when pulled out of the case grips which are quite tight. I put them back loose in the box to avoid this next time. You may need to use the coarse grit a bit longer and harder the first time you grind a blade as, having gone through the first rotation of grinding stones, I was a tad disappointed to say the least. This obviously depends on the original blade cut angle, which is not as easy to determine as some may think ! However, using the coarse with more effort a second time, and then going down the grades, I was really pleased with the result. Your pricing is extremely competitive, but I'm not sure I would pay the price that some others are charging for the Pro kit that I purchased. I hope to get many years use out of the kit and I expect, in time I will appreciate how good it is ! Great service via the website and quick delivery . Many thanks !

Having invested in better quality knives it was time to move on to improving my knife sharpening skills. And after much research decided on the lanksy system due to its ease of use, and versus the competitors, a very compelling price. My thinking being if I couldn't use it correctly then I have wasted only £40 versus £200 on the wicked edge system. After 2 attempts my kitchen knives are getting sharper. I don't think I have quite mastered the art just yet and am sure the blades will get even sharper. But am encouraged how easy it is to use. Although the stand is a bit wobbly requiring some dexterity in maintaining a stable sharpening base. Am sure I will be looking to upgrade to a wicked edge after a few months so bear that in mind. Good value for the price and am sure it's much easier than trying to learn how to use stones!
