The **Civivi Thug 2** is a great pocket knife designed by knife maker Matt Christensen, whose knives are very hard to come by! His handmade knives can be recognized by their tough blade shapes. With its compound grind tanto blade, the Civivi Thug 2 is no exception! 

## Guibourtia wood handle

The handle is comprised of steel liners with scales made from Guibourtia wood, better known as bubinga or African rosewood. It is a type of wood from Africa that has a warm appearance.

## Damascus steel blade

The blade is made from Damascus steel. This is a type of steel comprised of two different steels that have been forged and folded together. Folding it in different ways creates a truly stunning pattern. Originally Damascus steel was forged to improve the quality of the steel. Nowadays, it simply looks cool.

I was looking for something with a Damascus steel style blade and this seemed the nicest within my small budget. Very pleased with the product I received, while the pattern on the blade may not be the most distinctive, that’s the beauty of Damascus style steel, each pattern is unique and it’s unique to you :)
