The **Cold Steel AK-47** is based on the world-famous Kalashnikov AK-47. This knife has a 8.8 cm long and 3.1 cm wide blade. The blade of the AK-47 is made from black-coated American CPM S35VN stainless steel. This steel is hard and retains its sharpness for a long time. In terms of finish the blade is enhanced with a black DLC-coating.



The G10 handle has structure and 3 cut-outs for your fingers. As a result you will have a lot of grip. The famous Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock system takes care of an extremely solid lock. In short, the AK-47 is a solid and rugged-looking pocket knife.

Très beau couteau très confortable finition impeccable, aussi beau que dans la vidéo 

Be careful, because what you receive is not what you ordered and perhaps what you expected. The handle and the contour of the blade is the correct one but the geometry of the blade is completely different from the classical official AK-47: the blade ground is Flat and not Hollow as claimed on the KT description and on the offical Cold Steel site.
The sharpeness of the bevel in by consequent good but not exceptional as proudly declared on the Cold Steel site. The sharpness and the ability to carve small details on wood is the same as a CS 4-max Scout. The bevel shape, on my specimen, is completely asymmetric, near 25° on the left side of the blade and near 8 to 10° on the right side: a chisel! The effectiveness of the knife is completely different whether you hold the knife with the right hand or the left. I think that this asymmetry is not acceptable in a similar knife.
It's a good knife, but not the one declared and above all the excessively asymmetrical bevel is not justifiable for the price range.

Excellent project for a good folding knife ... but not exactly like the one in the picture. I think it is the latest version (excluding it is a clone), certainly improved of the Cold Steel classic: it is not a hollow grind at all, but flat; the sharpening of the cutting edge (unfortunately for me completely asymmetrical, almost like a Japanese chisel) reaches the blade choil; the texture of the G-10 handle is less aggressive; after nearly two months of bushcraft use (wood but no hitting!) the black coating of the blade is so far very durable and the Tri-ad Lock looks tough. On the negative side, in addition to the already mentioned sharpening, there is that the coating of the clip, the rocker bar of the back lock and the backspacer, has gone away after four days (sic!) of simple manipulation. From my point of view overall a little too expensive.
