Die Cold-Steel-Gladius-Machete, eigentlich ist es ja ein Kurzschwert, kam wie erwartet (und in einer Blitzlieferung nur einen Tag nach der Bestellung) bei mir an. Wie auch schon andere Rezensenten geschrieben haben, könnte der Anschliff besser sein. Habe das aber in einer halben Stunde mit Schleifpapier und einem Schleifblock sowie einer Polierscheibe korrigiert. Jetzt sind Schliff und Schärfe perfekt. Der Stahl scheint ganz brauchbar zu sein und die Verarbeitung an sich ist auch super. Natürlich ist diese Machete eher ein robustes Werkzeug und kein kunsthandwerkliches Vitrinenstück, aber das sollte jedem klar sein und ist angesichts des Preises auch völlig in Ordnung. Um es auf den Punkt zu bringen, das nicht zu lange und zu schwere Gladius von Cold Steel ist zusammen mit einem Faustschild (Buckler) und etwas Training eine ernstzunehmende Kombi.

Im Prinzip ok, doch ist die Klinge so schlecht geschliffen (schartig und unregelmäßig mit großen Buckeln und Einrissen), dass ich sie komplett neu schleifen muss, um sie verwenden zu können. Hier war wohl jemand am Werk, der nicht wußte, was er an der Schleifmaschine tun sollte und es auch noch nie gemacht hat. Schade! Sonst wäre es super.

Die Machete kam in einem katastrophalen Zustand bei mit an. Absolut untypisch für Cold Steel.

Musste der gesamten Klingen einen neuen Anschliff verpassen. Sie hatte auf beiden Seiten extreme Grade und war zum Teil verschliffen.

Jetzt nach der Bearbeitung mit dem WorkSharp ist sie Top. Gut ausbalanciert und wie ein Rasiermesser.
