Cold Steel is famous for raising the bar in the knife industry and Cold Steel new Recon I tactical folders are sure to set a new standard that will be hard to beat. Why? Because they are as tough as nails and will cut like a chain saw! Cold Steel has pulled out all the stops when they made these knives. Every facet of their construction has been over engineered to make them as strong, durable and effective as humanly possible. The blades are made out of Cold Steel proven AUS 8A stainless steel and the handles are thick G10. To compliment their super tough blades and handles they each feature Cold Steel revolutionary Tri-ad lock (patent pending) which practically precludes lock failure. To compliment their tactical mission Cold Steel have given each blade a tough black Teflon finish. Cold Steel testing has shown this coating or finish offers three major advantages for use on tactical blades. The first is it is highly resistant to scratches and abrasions while keeping rust at bay. The second is it eliminates glare and light reflections which may give its user away. The third is it's a superior lubricant which causes the blade to slip through even tough material with markedly less friction. This means you can cut deeper and far longer than with a non Teflon coated blade. To make the Recon I as easy to carry as possible, Cold Steel have equipped each knife with a small, extra strong pocket clip. What's more its diminutive size doesn't abrade and irritate the palm under protracted use like a larger clip would.

Ondanks 2 weken wachten weer een nette verzorging van
K&T.
Ik vind de cold steel RECON 1 een mooi mes om te zien.
maar nog mooier om hem nu zelf te hebben.
Hij ligt als gegoten in je hand.
Weer een pracht mes bij m'n verzameling.


Machtig mooi mes.
Goede afwerking zoals gewoon bij Cold Steel.

Het enige wat ik graag zou zien bij deze Cold Steel messen is dat ze die zonder black coating zouden leveren.


Verder is het een prima mes.

Wat een geweldig mes ! Ik heb voor de spearpoint gekozen omdat deze het minst agressief overkomt, maar is uiteraard net zo effectief als zijn broers. Ik ben voor mijn werk altijd s`nachts op pad en wil graag iets bij mij hebben waar ik mij veilig bij voel, ik heb onderhand aardig wat messen maar deze vind ik de beste wat prijs/kwaliteit aangaat en draag ik sinds ik hem heb dagelijks.  Zo lang je er niet met een tank of zo overheen rijdt gaat hij een leven lang mee, ( op de coating na dan maar dat wist ik van te voren ). Scherp genoeg van de fabriek en makkelijk scherp te houden, aus 8 vind ik een prima staal voor dit soort messen.
Zeer content met deze aankoop en met de 10% korting een leuke prijs !

Wie alle Recon 1 Folder leicht, sehr stabil und gut verarbeitet.
Die Wärmebehandlung des AUS8 hat Cold Steel voll im Griff. Will heißen, hält die Schärfe ausreichend lange und ist mit einfachen
Mitteln (ich benutze den Sharpmaker von Spyderco) auf Rasierschärfe zu bekommen. Die Elastizität des Stahls ist hervorragend. Danl der Wärmebehandlung. Kann einiges ab bevor die Klinge bricht!!!
Der Preis der hier geboten wird könnte aber ein wenig niedriger sein.
Alles im allen ein hervorragendes Messer. STABIL; SCHARF; LEICHT und mit dem (meiner Meinung nach) besten Lock auf dem Markt!

De Cold Steel modellen met G10 heften vertegenwoordigen stuk voor stuk de nagenoeg perfecte prijs kwaliteits verhouding. Het zijn heerlijke, oerdegelijke no nonsense modellen.

Of je nu een Recon 1, Lawman, Talwar neemt. Ze hebben dezelfde constructie en degeljkheid. Het AUS8a van CS laat zich kinderlijk eenvoudig tot scheermes scherpte slijpen en houdt die scherpte voldoende lang vast.

Ga je voor maximale sterkte tot in de punt dan kies je voor de tanto variant, wil je iets dat net wat vriendelijker oogt dan is deze spearpoint een goede keuze.

Ik vind de Cold Steel G10 modellen een beetje de Toyota's van de messenindustrie. Je maakt er misschien niet de blits mee, maar ze zijn binnen het redelijke nagenoeg onverwoestbaar en laten je nooit in de steek.
