It's all about the technique with sharpstones. I don't think I have it yet. You need time. It's quite therapeutic but also frustrating if like me you just can't get the hang of sharpening both ways. So this stone is good. It does get your knife sharp. But you need lots of time and patience with stones. Nothing else got my knives sharp so I am glad I went for this stone. Patience is what I needed and didn't have enough of, hence the three stars for expectation.

This is a Great stone to use as a mid range beginner. Very easy to use and gives a good sharp edge to your knives. It is not the sports car of sharpening stones however neither is it the price of the top whetstones. Super fast delivery of a great product that offers fantastic value for your hard earned cash.

Good impresion so far, only sharpened some knives around the house(stoped my wife moaning) and a few chiesels......not bad for the money.

This does what it says. One of my older knives is now razor sharp - great for slicing tomatoes thinly. Some of the newer more expensive knives took a bit longer to sharpen, must be harder quality steel, but the end result was the same. Very pleased and would recommend.
