The **Fällkniven PXL Black Micarta** is a cool and decent pocket knife for daily use. So an EDC pocket knife. However, because of its look and feel it could also function as a gentleman's knife. With the PXL you radiate class and elegance. But also that you are not afraid to get to work!

 A pocket knife can look amazing. However, if you can't use it, it won't do you any good. This condition is something Fällkniven can easily adhere to. They used Elmax for the blade. A top-quality type of steel that is hard, and therefore retains its sharpness well. The result is also that the blade can be a little thinner just above the edge. As such the PXL is amazing to use.

 To further optimize the cutting qualities and the sharpness retention Fällkniven enhanced the blade with a convex grind. That is why there is no secondary V-edge. Instead the grind runs convex from the side of the blade in one line towards the edge. As such there is a less cutting resistance. Fällkniven's fixed knives have been renowned for this fact for years.

 The handle is comprised of steel liners with steel bolster. Nice and decent. The scales are made from micarta. That's a composite material of linen and synthetic resin. Micarta feels great in hand and can withstand the elements well.

 You easily open the Fällkniven PXL with one hand with the double thumb studs. The great thing about a relatively large and heavy knife such as this is that the thumb studs are relatively subtle. To create enough traction for your thumb the ends of the studs are enhanced with a subtle texture. Once opened the blade is locked by a solid liner lock.

Es gibt Messer, die man benutzt – und es gibt Messer, denen man mit einer gewissen Ehrfurcht begegnet. Und es gibt Messer, die man darüber hinaus nicht nur besitzt, sondern fast schon verehrt. Mein Fälkniven gehört zweifellos zu dieser seltenen Kategorie.

Obwohl ich dieses Messer nun bereits seit mehreren Jahren in der Elforyn-Ausführung mein Eigen nenne, hat es nichts von seiner Faszination verloren. Im Gegenteil: Mit der Zeit ist aus anfänglicher Begeisterung eine tiefe, ruhige Wertschätzung geworden. Besonders die Ausführung mit schwarzem Micarta übt eine fast meditative Anziehungskraft aus. Es ist ein Messer, das man nicht einfach zur Hand nimmt, sondern zunächst betrachtet – still, aufmerksam, andächtig.

Das Micarta ist außergewöhnlich schön gearbeitet, fein poliert und vermittelt einen spürbar wertigen Eindruck. Es liegt warm und satt in der Hand, wirkt zugleich robust und elegant. Jede Kontur, jeder Übergang zeugt von Sorgfalt und handwerklicher Konsequenz. Hier wurde nichts dem Zufall überlassen.

Natürlich handelt es sich nicht um ein kleines, unauffälliges Taschenmesser. Größe und Gewicht sind präsent. Doch genau darin liegt sein Charakter. Dieses Messer ist kein Kompromiss, sondern ein Statement. Ein Werkzeug, das Vertrauen schafft. Ein Begleiter, der Verlässlichkeit ausstrahlt.

Es ist eines jener Messer, die man bewusst einsteckt – nicht aus Gewohnheit, sondern aus Überzeugung. Man spürt sein Gewicht und schätzt es gerade deshalb. Beim Einstecken wird einem noch einmal klar, dass man etwas Besonderes bei sich trägt. Kein beiläufiger Gegenstand, sondern eine wohlüberlegte Entscheidung.

Ein solches Messer erzählt keine laute Geschichte. Es überzeugt leise: durch Balance, Materialwahl und die Selbstverständlichkeit, mit der alles an seinem Platz ist. Es verlangt keine Rechtfertigung und keinen Vergleich. Es ist einfach da – beständig, würdevoll, zeitlos.

Ich gehöre dabei nicht zu jenen Menschen, die sich allein von technischen Daten überzeugen lassen. Selbstverständlich weiß auch ich guten Stahl zu schätzen – in diesem Fall den wundervollen Elmax, der objektiv kaum Wünsche offenlässt. Doch am Ende geht es mir um weit mehr als Zahlen, Härtegrade oder Diagramme.

Es geht um Gefühl.
Und dieses Messer ist ein echter Auslöser von Emotionen.

Uitstekend mes. Was mijn eerdere PXL verloren en daarom vervanger gekocht. Eerdere heb ik 14 jaar dag in dag uit gebruikt. Voor alles, tot de verbouwing van mijn huis toe! Betrouwbaar, stevig, scherp! Het enige wat slijt is de broekzak waaraan de clip bevestigd is, maar dat is een klein offer.
