The Fiskar's X25 is a great splitting axe; I've used it to split large seasoned fire logs into smaller pieces and it does it with ease. I have also used it to lop 40-50mm branches off trees, which it can do even though it isn't designed for this purpose. The cutting edge is sharp and the axe has a very solid feel to it. Please note that it weighty and requires both hands to operate i.e. it is too large and heavy for most people to use as a hand axe. Looking forward to using the X25 to split 12" - 15" cut tree trunks in due course and will update my review then. I have other Fiskars products, their powergear and extension loppers, and consider the quality of their products to be excellent.
