I really like it. Just right balance of small, light, effective. Easy to carry, good to work with for me. The build quality seems great. Very sharp upon arrival. VERY. The handle didn't seem to have any varnish or anything which was great. I used shou sugi ban method. Then sanded, then applied Danish oil. It looks really good now. Seems to hold an edge well so far. Not for chopping down massive trees but would be good for loads of stuff. Great as a camp axe. Also surprisingly good as a carpenter's axe for me. The head is a good shape for it and if your not weak then the big handle doesn't matter for finer work. Those are my opinions.

This axe is truely a all around great axe. It fells small trees and choppes up logs just great. The longer shaft than say a small forrest axe makes it easier to use, yet it can also be used for carving. The perfect size and great use. 10/10

Nice workable axe. Good for general and light duty chopping tasks around the farm. Not quite as good at splitting wood as I had hoped - but this is when attacking larger logs - so maybe I am just expecting too much. If you need an axe for general work, this one fits the bill. Nice and sharp, long handle for a good effective swing, and nice leather sheath for the head. Good quality of workmanship as well.

Have used Swedish Axes for several years, I and have found the Hultafors axes quite exceptional. The handle of hickory is very good, and of a good length if you need to swing it. I have been using the pclassic felling axe this week for hedgelaying in the North York Moors National Park. The blade comes very sharp indded and holds its edge, making the work easy and enjoyable. It is a real pleasure to use. I also have the Hultafors Classic Forest axe, which has the same head and a bit easier to use in the hedge as the handle is a bit shorter; as is the one on the hunters axe. The leather edge protector is made of fine quality leather. A super axe. I also own Grunsfors Bruk axes which are of the same quality. Also have a collection of vintage axes by Elwell, Spearwell, Nash etc. The Swedish modern axes are a real joy to use. Advice....don't linseed oil the handle over the bedroom carpet. Less said the better.
