The axes is nice and feels like it is gona work for a long time. I am happy with ha dle length due to being tall. The only thing that requires extra work is handle finish as it is needs a bit of sanding to feel perfect. In addition it would be nice if they offered sheath as extra purchase option.

Quick enough standard delivery. Packaged well ( arrived in one piece ) Does what it says on the Tin , splits like a hot knife through butter with very little effort. Blade arrived razor sharp so can also trim my beard with it after a day chopping logs.

Hultifors manufacture excellent axes, using hand forged finest Swedish steel. Good axe. Splits logs very well. Nice handle with good grain.

It's a lovely thing... there are more efficient ways to split wood. A Fiskars would be my professional choice... but it doesn't have all the flaws to give it character..! If your wood splitting for your own pleasure treat yourself to a tool that's a joy to own. On a more practical note... this was the most competitive price for this product with a very efficient delivery.

Really great looking axe. After doing some research and reading Norwegian Wood:Chopping, Stacking & Drying Wood The Scandinavian Way, I was please to find this Hultafora wood splitter at a much cheaper price compared to other traditional Swedish brands. I bought this specifically for splitting down the firewood I buy for my log burner - thick 8 inch seasoned logs. The axe works really well and is perfectly weighted for this. It also came very sharp (I accidentally took a chunk out my trainer too, so need To be careful) I have only had the ace a few weeks but have put it to good use and am very happy with its performance and look. There's a certain romance and ritual to splitting firewood and in all honesty, I didn't want a non-traditional handle, it had to be wood.
