The **MKM Normar Knivesandtools Exclusive Rosewood** is a bushcraft knife that is also great as an all-round outdoor knife, or for hunting or survival purposes. It was designed by Jesper Voxnaes, in collaboration with Knivesandtools! With this knife, we wanted to get the most out of this type of steel. That's why the edge has a scandi-grind, which is a first for LionSteel. The blade is long and thick enough to split a thick branch. In addition, the belly of the blade is great for food prep or for skinning hides. The sharp tip is great for cutting tasks that require precision. And at the pommel, the steel sticks out a bit, so you can also use this knife as a firestriker.

## Knivesandtools Exclusive

This MKM Normar was created through a collaboration between LionSteel (MKM), Jesper Voxnaes and Knivesandtools. A great knife with a fantastic price-quality ratio, exclusively available at Knivesandtools.

## Rosewood handle

The handle is made from rosewood. A stunning type of wood that gives the knife a very luxurious look and feel.

## CPM 3V steel

CPM 3V is an incredibly strong and tough type of steel. But of course, we also extensively tested (i.e. abused) this knife. We wrangled in through wood, split thick branches and rammed on the knife hard. And it could handle it all! It was only after this knife had passed our inspection that we had a larger number of these knives produced by MKM and LionSteel. CPM 3V retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. You do need to be careful with acids, salt and moisture: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. It may form a patina over time. Or even rust, if you don't maintain it well. Fortunately, a little bit of oil goes a long way.

## Premium leather sheath
The MKM Normar comes with a black leather sheath with press-stud. As we have come to expect from LionSteel, the quality is excellent. The sheath features MOLLE webbing, making it MOLLE-compatible and allowing you to easily attach it to a tactical backpack.

Liked it so much on micarta version that when I saw this with such a big discount I could not help myself to get a 2nd one. This one too came incredibly sharp. The sharpest knife out of the box I've ever received. Beautiful wood, good finish. Less than the micarta one but it is understandable since the wood can deform a little bit. Heat treat feels on point since otherwise the very thin edge would have bent or chipped or rolled and it did not. Obviously not a knife to abuse but a very good EDC with great ergonomics too. I feel the firesteel sharp pommel is unnecessary since it is pretty short. Sheath could be better. The fit is not great (knife sits sideways on the belt loop) and does not have a cover for one of the buttons on the back so it can scratch the blade and the handle, but definitely isn't a big deal to not consider this knife.

Cuchillo compacto, extremadamente versatil para el campo. Al ser vaciado escandinavo trabaja muy bien la madera. A su vez, al ser una hoja de un grosor tan fina (2.8 mm según las especificaciones de la pagina web), no se comporta como una cuña, si no que es un cuchillo que filetea de forma extraordinaria, sin problemas para abrir animales o preparar comida. El acero CPM 3V permite el abuso del filo tan delgado y ayuda manteniendo el filo afilado durante largo tiempo. Relativamente fácil de afilar en el campo. En realidad, el grosor del filo es de 3,2 mm según las medidas de 2 calibres en casa y en el taller. La funda de cuero no me gusta, pero es mas una cuestión personal. En definitiva, muy recomendable.

Bought this knife because I couldn't not buy it (... yes, I know). A special edition LionSteel, designed by Jesper Voxnaes - and that's exactly what you get:

There is Voxnaes's tendency to put cool looks before usability (you can actually pull the knife without opening the push button, with all the harm that will do to the holding strap). There is also LionSteel's super high end usability, and this is the only LionSteel with a scandi grind. Given the rather thin blade and the kow bevel, this works like a sturdy but light weight Helle knife - meaning excellently.

A cool looking knife ideal for bushcrafting, which should have followed the dictum that form follows function just a little more closely.

4/5 but still a high buy recommendation.

Great knife. Good blade design for different outdoor tasks. 

Un filo ligero tipo bushcraft diferente por lo particular del diseño en el que se reconoce rápidamente el estilo y las lineas de Vox con esa elegancia en las formas. Los acabados son muy buenos y el acero estupendo. El agarre es cómodo y encaja en la mano con naturalidad, quizá algo estrecho para manos grandes y trabajos prolongados. El corte es una delicia, se nota la facilidad del vaciado escandinavo para con la madera combinado con el agudo ángulo de corte. Sin embargo habrá que ver lo que eso afecta a la robustez del filo, aparenta algo delicado y ahí es donde entra el acierto del acero. La funda se ve de calidad pero no extremadamente fina, para mi le sobran las bandas del molle que por otro lado no han venido perfectamente colocadas con la superior algo larga; aunque resulta funcional y segura con el corchete y sujeta perfectamente el cuchillo.
