The Naniwa Combination Stones are the improved successors of the Work Stones. Naniwa has renewed the binding agent of the water stones. It is unique that Naniwa itself takes care of the production of the binding agent. Optimal matching to the grit size is important. The result of this is that the sharpening properties of Naniwa water stones are significantly better than sharpening stones of other brands even though the grit size is comparable.  
  


The Combination Stones are inexpensive sharpening stones with two different sharpening sides so you will have everything you need for your daily sharpening work with one or two sharpening stones. The Combination Stones are able to absorb water which means they have to be submerged in water for a few minutes before the sharpening process starts. The water stones will wear very slowly during the sharpening. The advantage of this is that the stone cleans itself, as it were. Despite this 'wear' a Combination Stone will last for a very long time.  
  

**About the grit size**
Sharpening stones are delivered with several grit sizes. The larger the number, the finer the grit. The finer the grit, the sharper the sharpening result. You start the sharpening process with a coarse grit and then continue with a finer grit. Steps of a factor two to three between the different grit sizes are ideal.

**Indication for the selection of the correct sharpening stone:**


* Grit 200 to 600: suitable for repairing the cut of blunt knives

* Grit 800 to 1000: suitable for the sharpening of knives that are in a good condition

* Grit 2000 to 3000: for a sharper sharpening result than the condition in which many new knives are delivered

* Grit 5000 to 12000: for the sharpening of knives into a razor sharp condition

Goede polijst steen, na het gebruiken van een 400/600 steen. Het zou wel fijn zijn als ze de grit op de zijkant zouden zetten.

De steen is vrij slijtvast. Het zou beter zijn als er een steun voor de stenen bij geleverd werd. De prijs/kwaliteit is zeer goed. De korrelgrote is voor mij voldoende fijn en zal dat volgens mij ook zijn voor de meeste mensen voor het gebruik in de keuken of buiten. De grootte van de steen is ok. 

Wunderbar zu handhaben, geringer Abrieb. Die Körnung hätte aufgedruckt sein müssen um nicht danach zu suchen. Hervorragende Schleifergebnisse. Von mir eine Kaufempfehlung.

Le colis est arrivé intact et la pierre emballée dans du papier bulle, malheureusement à la deuxième utilisation un petit bout dans un angle s'est détaché, alors que je la manipule avec précaution...
Cela ne gêne pas à l'utilisation mais j'espère qu' il n'y en aura pas d'autres.
Débutant sur ces pierres je n'obtiens pas encore le résultat souhaité, tranchant moins bon que sortie d'usine...
Je ne dois pas avoir acquis la technique.
