The SCANPAN tajine is great when preparing stews. The SCANPAN tagine 32 cm is part of the Impact series. This means top-quality materials and a solid construction. You will, as such, enjoy it for years.

## What is tagine?

From the North African kitchen, the tagine has made the transition to our own kitchen. The tagine is a cooking pot with a very high lid, with a kind of chimney. Condensation constantly falls back into the bowl during preparation. As such the food will always taste amazing. Meat, fish and vegetables can be prepared in a tagine. Also great: you can serve the food in the dish!

## SCANPAN tagine: unique Danish design

The combination of the white lid with silver-coloured dish makes the SCANPAN tagine look very modern and stylish. With this SCANPAN tagine, you get real (Danish) design that will undoubtedly catch the eye of your guests. ## The material used for the SCANPAN tagine

The lid of the tagine is made of pottery. The rings on the inside ensure that the condensation is used even better. The advantage of this is that flavour, vitamins and minerals are preserved. 

The dish of the tagine is made from top-quality 18/10 steel. This makes the pans corrosion resistant, suitable for all heat sources and also dishwasher-proof. You can also use it in the oven, up to 260 degrees Celsius.

The handles are secure with rivets instead of screws. As such wear and tear in the long run is prevented. Another advantage is that the handles are made from bound steel. As such the heat can escape faster, making sure the handles stay cool.

The 6.4 mm thick base is made of bound steel and has an aluminium core. The heat distribution in the pan is therefore optimal and benefits the quality of your dishes. The diameter of the base is 26.3 cm. If you have an induction hob: check whether the diameter of the base fits. 

## How to use the SCANPAN Tagine

Before first use, clean the pan thoroughly with hot water and mild soapy water. For each subsequent use, it is important that you grease the pan well with butter or oil before adding the ingredients. 

Never expose the tagine to high differences in temperature. For example, do not move the tagine directly from the refrigerator to a pre-heated oven. After use, also let the tagine cool down before holding it under the cold tap. All to make sure you prevent damage to the pottery and steel.

## Environmentally friendly pans

For environmental reasons, the production of all SCANPAN pans is 100% “green”. For example, 100% recycled aluminium is used and all CO2 emissions produced during the manufacturing process are kept to a minimum. 

## History of SCANPAN

SCANPAN pans have been made in Denmark ever since 1956. The name SCANPAN comes from a contraction of the words Scandinavian and pan.
