The **WE Knife Nightblade WE22046-3 Stonewash CPM 20CV, Tiger Stripe Flamed Titanium** is the result of a special collaboration between Maarten and Mikkie B from Dutch Bushcraft Knives (DBK) and WE Knife. The goal of this collaboration was to create a playful and modern version of the timeless concept of a gentleman's knife. The Nightblade, in spite of its tough name, is a modestly sized pocket knife intended for distinguished gentlemen and gentleladies who want a stylish and discreet pocket knife for everyday use. No unnecessary frills, just a great pocket knife made from high-quality materials. 

## WE Knife Nightblade: blade

DBK has opted to design the blade with a nicely thin grind, making it an excellent 'slicer'. The lack of thumb studs make it possible to use the entire blade as you're slicing. Moreover, it also comes in handy when sharpening the blade; thumb studs force you to sharpen at a certain angle, the lack of thumb studs gives you the freedom to determine the sharpening angle yourself. The Nightblade is large enough to cut an apple, small enough for you to discreetly carry it in your pocket. It's a nice compromise between how much blade length you actually need and what is unnecessary for daily tasks. Thanks to its friendly looking design, the Nightblade feels approachable and is a nice conversation starter.

## WE Knife Nightblade opening mechanism and legality

The addition of a 'nail nick' as an opening mechanism makes the Nightblade legal to carry in many places because it can pass for a two-handed pocket knife. One-handed openers can be an issue, in terms of legality, for example in Germany. The innocent appearance of this pocket knife also helps, because people will not easily assume that you are carrying a dangerous object with this sweet little pocket knife. 

In short, if you are looking for a pocket knife that you can fidget with all day, and sometimes open a package that probably (hopefully) contains a new knife, then the WE Knife Nightblade is a fantastic choice! 

## CPM 20CV steel

The blade of this WE Knife Nightblade is made from CPM 20CV steel. This is a premium type of steel made by Crucible Industries in the US. CPM 20CV is a popular choice for blades as it's very hard and retains its sharpness well. In addition, 20CV is also very corrosion resistant. An excellent choice for a pocket knife, in short. In terms of composition and in use, CPM 20CV is very similar to Böhler M390, another popular steel. Because CPM 20CV is incredibly hard, we recommend sharpening this pocket knife with diamond or ceramic sharpening stones, or a sharpening system that uses these sharpening stones.

Ein wunderschönes Messer...ich versuche mir gerade ein EDC in diesem Stil zusammen zu stellen...gar nicht so einfach.
Die Haptik des Messers ist klasse...ich mag diese leicht raue Oberfläche mit der Tiger Stripes Optik. Die Klinge läuft super sauber und leicht auf den Kugellagern...bin total begeistert!

Mooi mes, ontworpen door DBK. Je voelt dat het volledige gemaakt is rond bushcraft en niet meteen rond EDC. Het ligt stevig in de hand, eenhandig openen en sluiten gaat vlot met een goede blokkering van het lemmet. Mocht je interesse hebben in een EDC mes, is dit geen slechte keuze maar er zijn betere modellen. Het gewicht had minder gemogen. 

I really like this knife. The size and blade are perfekt for every day lighter task. Very sharp and easy to operate. The design is damn good looking.
