The **Wüsthof Classic Ikon tomato knife, 14 cm** is, as the name might already suggest, pefect when cutting tomatoes. Because of the serrated edge you can quickly cut through the tough skin of a tomato without crushing it. With the two tips at the end of the blade you can easily scoop up pieces of tomato, cucumber, cheese, salami or other food.

## The blade


Like with other Wüsthof collections the blade is made from X50CrMoV15 steel, which was sharpened according to the PEtec method, and polished by hand. This type of steel is also easy to sharpen.


Another advantage of this blade is the crop. It doesn’t extend all the way to the edge, but does separate the handle from the blade. As such you not only keep your fingers safe, you can also use the entire edge. Also great when you want to sharpen the knife.


## The handle


The handle is made from rock-solid POM. This is a shock, heat and acid proof material you can easily clean. Perfect for kitchen knives. The steel of the blade seamlessly merges with the handle. This is not only a rock-solid connection, it also provides great balance. Combined with the ergonomic shape this knife feels amazing in hand.

In only a short amount of time the Wüsthof Classic Ikon collection grew out to become one of Wüsthof’s most popular collections. Not surprising as these knives perfectly combine classic and modern elements. Feels very good quality. It's razor sharp too.

Mes ligt goed in de hand en glijd makkelijk door tomaten heen. Zeker aan te raden. De prijs vind ik wel te hoog. 74 euro voor een mesje vind ik veel geld.

Une coupe hallucinante sur les tomates et agrumes ! Sans effort, c'est net et précis et permet de couper des rondelles très très fines sans déchirer les tomates.
La prise en main est excellente. A posséder en plus d'un Chef ou Santoku car cela permet d'éviter de les abîmer sur les tomates qui nuisent au tranchant des couteaux droits.

Er was iets misgelopen met de verzending maar na een telefoontje was het onmiddellijk opgelost en 2 dagen later was mijn pakje thuis. Vriendelijke en professionele helpdesk! 
Het mes op zich is zeer scherp maar past niet goed in een variabel messenblok.
