bought this to replace my 30 year old one, which was slightly smaller, it had worn smooth with years of use. it was just as good, and as easy to use and at 68 yrs. old i am thinking it will outlive me. I have Wusthof knives too, so do not know whether it would perform or last as long with cheaper cooks knives, although i will admit to sharpening dinnerknives and that worked. well worth the money.
