The **Bark River Kephart 4** is a classic fixed knife, inspired by the famous Kephart model from the late 19th century. This is one of the first bushcraft knives. Still relevant and beloved amongst bushcraft enthusiasts. Remarkable about the Bark River Kephart 4 is the relatively low weight.

## Bark River Kephart 4 blade

The blade is made from CPM 3V-steel. This is a type of tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by stropping it.

## Bark River Kephart 4 handle

The handle is made from canvas micarta. This is a strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. It is comfortable to hold, even in wet or cold conditions.

The Bark River Kephart 4"" comes with a solid leather sheath. This sheath has a belt loop with enough room for belts up to 4.0 cm. There is also a loop for a firesteel.
