Brexit and Knivesandtools: all questions answered
Ever since 1 January 2021 the United Kingdom is no longer a part of the EU. This means that certain things with regards to orders, shipping and many more has changed.
We understand that, as a customer, you might have questions and want to learn more about what the Brexit means for you as a UK customer. To help you out and answer some of these questions we made a list of frequently asked questions.
1. Knivesandtools HQ
First things first. You need to know that we are based in the Netherlands. All products we sell are located in our warehouse in, you guessed it, the Netherlands. We are not a UK-based company. This means that, ever since the Brexit, in some cases we adhere to EU laws and regulations. With regards to returns, for instance.
Do you still ship to the UK?
Yes! We are happy to say we still ship the most amazing knives and tools to the United Kingdom.
What do I have to pay attention to when placing an order?
Basically, placing an order is the same as it always has been. This hasn’t and won’t change. You see something that makes your heart skip a bit, add it to your cart and proceed to the check-out.
Do, however, keep the following in mind. All product prices now, as of 21-01-2021, include VAT and import duties. Also, shipping has become a little more expensive as it now includes brokerage charges and border fees. This means that shipping will always be £8.50.
What about shipping times?
After placing an order we will ship as soon as possible. After shipment, orders will arrive within 3 to 4 working days.
What happens if you refuse your order?
If you refuse your order upon delivery it means that UPS will ship your order back to the Knivesandtools HQ. However, please keep in mind that we will only refund your order once we receive it from UPS. If your package gets lost or destroyed we won’t be able to refund your order.
Can I still return my order and, if so, how do I return it post-Brexit?
If you are not happy with your order you can always return the products you ordered. This hasn’t changed. We, however, will no longer cover any of the return fees. If you request a refund we will only refund the original shipping costs and the total amount of the products you ordered.
Please note that we will never refund the government charges, brokerage charges, import duties and additional taxes you paid when placing an order.
If you wish to return your order please use the CN23 form. Carriers can supply you with this form.
Do I have to pay VAT when placing an order?
Yes. All prices on our website include VAT. We will deduct the amount of VAT you paid from your order and pay that to the United Kingdom.
We hope that this brief overview has answered some, or all of your questions. Know that we will do whatever we can to make this transition as smooth as possible for you.
