The Bark River Mini Canadian is one of the most popular small knives in the Bark River range. At first glance you might think: what a strange-looking knife. A long handle, a short blade, and such a strange middle. We understand! However, when you hold it you'll immediately understand what makes the Mini Canadian so special.
Ergonomically speaking, this knife is close to perfect. The large handle and the finger grooves ensure that you have plenty of grip. Your hand is close to the cutting edge, so you have lots of control over the knife. And the large ricasso, the flat part in between the handle and the blade, ensures that you can hold it in a variety of ways. The Bark River Mini Canadian can be used for EDC or hunting purposes. It's a simple knife, but it is highly effective and very useful.
Please note: we usually measure the blade from the front of the handle to the blade. Which in this case is 7.4 cm. However, in this case it is worth mentioning that the blade itself (the part with the sharp grind) is 5.4 cm long.
The blade is made from A2 tool steel, a strong steel that would rather bend than break. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: A2 is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by stropping it.
The handle is made from G10 and secured with hollow pins. G10 is a very strong, lightweight composite material. It feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold conditions.
The Bark River Mini Canadian comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 5.0 cm).
Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. Therefore the knife you receive might be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
