The Gerber Gator Bolo is shaped like a bolo: a traditional machete that is used in and around the house in the Philippines. The machete has a classic shape with a round belly. It is made for various purposes, such as removing vegetation and chopping food or wood in pieces
The 39 cm long blade on the Gerber Gator Bolo is made from stainless 1055-carbon steel. This steel has a hollow grind. Not razor-sharp but that is also not necessary when you own a machete. If you do want a razor-sharp blade you can easily sharpen the blade yourself. This type of steel combined with the weight and the shape of the blade makes the Bolo perfect for chopping things. The blade of the Bolo seamlessly merges with the handle. A robust, full-tang construction.
Gerber Gator grip
Like the other machetes and knives from the Gator collection the handle on this Bolo has been enhanced with the patented Gabor grip. Made from glass reinforced nylon with a soft, rubber surface and the look and feel of an alligator skin. This surface ensures a firm grip with optimal control. Regardless of the weather: this machete will never slip from your hands. A little additional security feature comes in the shape of a lanyard for on your wrist. Wonderful when you are waving the machete around.
The Gator Bolo comes with a military grade nylon sheath you can use to store your machete after use.
