The Maxpedition Falcon II is a high quality tactical backpack. With its capacity of 23L it is suitable for day trips. We think its very spacious for a 23L backpack. That's because Maxpedition did a very clever job on the layout. The different compartments are all cleverly arranged and by placing fastening points for a MOLLE-compatible pouch in the right places, you can extend it if necessary.
A striking feature of the Maxpedition Falcon 2 is the number of MOLLE/PALS mounting options. The front and sides are enhanced with many different loops so there is always a way to hang your gear on the bag. Originally these loops were of course designed for use by the military, but also survivalists, bushcrafters and airsofters have discovered the versatility of these systems.
Maxpedition has thought carefully about the compression straps for the Falcon II. These are lashing straps to stretch the contents of the bag. This means that the contents have no room to move and you can carry the weight close to your back. On both sides you will find two compression straps and on the front/top you will find a Y-shaped strap which will make sure that it doesn't get too much space to swing around at the top. At the bottom of the bag you will find two straps which you can use to hang a sleeping bag or jacket on the bottom of the bag.
Behind the back is a softly padded zippered pocket. In it you can place a drinking bladder of a drinking system (max. 3L). At the top there is a hole that is neatly sealed with a velcro system. To make life more difficult for pickpockets and to prevent the zipper from unintentionally opening, Maxpedition has made loops on all the zipper runners. You can always fasten it with the press stud on the front, or on one of the compression straps.
There are numerous adjustment options available to make wearing the Falcon II as comfortable as possible. An adjustable chest strap and hip strap are both available. But quite unique for a backpack in this performance class is the presence of the load balancers at the top of the shoulder straps. This allows you to pull the weight at the top of the backpack even closer to you, making it even more comfortable to carry. Especially on long walks you will notice the advantages of this.
As you are used to from Maxpedition, the Falcon 2 is also made of the very best materials. This bag will last a lifetime. Mainly Cordura 1050D nylon has been used. Slightly waterproof and therefore suitable to withstand a light downpour. A Teflon treatment makes the bag even more resistant to water and dirt.
