The Optimus Polaris Optifuel is a powerful and versatile gas stove you can use anywhere in the world. It doesn’t only work with standard gas tanks, you can also use a pressurized bottle filled with liquid fuel. Sounds complicated? It really isn’t. Simply use a solid bottle (sold separately) and fill it with kerosene, petrol or diesel. You screw the included control cap on the bottle and pump it up to increase the pressure. The result? You can even cook outside when the temperature drops up to -20° degrees Celsius.
You use the Polaris Optifuel during hikes or camping trips to boil a pot of water or prepare a meal. Because of its large size when you unfold it you can also use it when you are barbequing to keep sauces warm or as an additional stove when you are out with your caravan. Because you can use liquid fuel the Polaris Optifuel is also a popular candidate for mountain climbers and arctic adventurers.
The Optimus Polaris Optifuel is very powerful. It delivers an output of up to 4200 watts. In reality this means that, depending on the height, temperature of your surroundings and circumstances you can boil a litre of water in about 4.5 minutes. For it you, of course, need fuel. This stove has been enhanced with a EN417-mount. That is the standard screw mount you will find on all small gas tanks. As a maximum applies that it will work with gas tanks up to 450 grams.
Want to prepare a meal in cold circumstances? The Optimus Vega has the answer. When the temperature drops to -0° degrees Celsius gas won’t ignite as easily. To solve it you can simply turn the tank upside down. For this purpose Optimus has enhanced the gas connection with two foldable feet to make sure the tank stays upright. The result? You can keep cooking, up to -20° degrees Celsius.
Even colder? You can purchase an individual Optimus fuel tank and fill it with kerosene, petrol or diesel. Even when you want to take the Polaris with you on the airplane. You might not be allowed to bring a gas tank on a plane. You are, however, allowed to bring an empty Optimus fuel tank. So if you are unable to find a standard gas tank when you arrive at your holiday destination you can still probably find one of the other types of fuel.
The Optimus Polaris Optifuel comes with a flexible aluminium wind screen. You place it underneath the stove to cut off the wind and make sure you can cook efficiently. Especially in the mountains at lower temperatures you will notice how big the influence of the wind actually is.
Optimus represents quality. In order to guarantee this quality they test some models in the factory to make sure you will receive a product that works perfectly. This does mean that the stove could show some traces of use or has discoloured metal. This is normal and a sign of the quality Optimus wishes to deliver.
The Optimus Vega comes with a simple carrier bag. In it you can store the stove and the wind screen.
Please note: this stove only works with EN417 gas tanks. Campingaz uses a different standard. This product does not include the gas tank. The stove does come with an extensive multi-lingual manual with safety tips. We advise you to read it before use.
