The Rike 1504 is a very beautiful knife with a great finish. It’s quite hefty in size and the ergonomics are cleverly designed. Striking is the beautiful millwork of the grip.
The blade opens fast and very smooth with the flipper. It really jumps out because the blade runs on ball-bearings. When opened, the Rike 1504 locks with a frame-lock. To prevent the titanium frame-lock from chipping in the steel blade they have added a steel insert. As a result there is no steel-on-steel contact which keeps it from wearing out. The insert also plays a role as a so-called "overtravel-stop". It means the locking can’t over-stretch during unlocking and it keeps the lock perfect for years.
The blade is made of CPM S35VN-steel. A high end steel which guarantees long-lasting sharpness. On the back of the blade there are small groove made for extra grip. This is called jimping. The finish is a very fine stonewash. To carry the Rike 1504 with you daily it has a fine milled pocket clip.
