The Spyderco Stretch looks like a cross between the Delica and the Endura. This pocket knife is light in weight, which is partly due to its skeletonised liners. It is a very practical and strong knife. It features the usual Spyderco thumb hole, which makes one-handed opening for both left-handed and right-handed users a piece of cake. The pocket clip can also be positioned in 4 different ways.  
  


The blade is manufactured from VG10 steel, which, for many users, is an ideal type of steel for pocket knives. The back lock is equipped with a Boye Dent, which ensures that the lock remains safely engaged. This knife is ideal for prolonged, heavy-duty use.

Au TOP : tranchant, maniabilité, ergonomie... rien à redire.

Der Griff des Spyderco Strech ist etwas größer geraten als es sonst bei den anderen Messern dieser Leichtbauserie mit rutschfesten Kunststoffgriffen der Fall ist. Auch die Klingenform weicht vom Gewohnten ab - die Klinge ist in die Länge gezogen und das Messer wirkt dadurch sehr schlank. Der von Spyderco nur bei einer handvoll Messern verwendete "exotisch" japanische Klingenstahl ZDP-189 sorgt für Schärfe und Schnitthaltigkeit.
Das Stretch füllt eine Lücke zwischen dem Delicia und dem Endura aus und war ursprünglich als kleines Jagdtaschenmesser konzipiert worden. Der Entwurf zu diesem Messer stammt vom Chef des Spyderco-Unternehmens Sal Glesser persönlich. Er hat in meinen Augen eine sehr gute Arbeit abgeliefert.

Het is een vrij groot mes, maar is door het relatief lage gewicht prima te dragen. Het handvat is ergonomisch vorm gegeven en heeft door de bi-directionele textuur een zeer goede grip; Het ligt gewoon lekker in de hand, ongeacht welk soort grip je gebruikt. In de "choke-up" grip is het mes, ondanks het grote lemmet, heel nauwkeurig te bedienen. Dit is zonder twijfel het meest comfortabele zakmes dat ik tot op heden heb gehad. Uiteraard is het VG-10 lemmet vlijmscherp vanuit de fabriek geleverd en is het met wat stroppen heel makkelijk te onderhouden. Zijn er nog nadelen ? Ja en nee.. De pocket-clip heeft een zwarte verflaag, naar mijn mening had die beter chroom kunnen zijn, maar dat is puur esthetisch; het heeft geen invloed op de kwaliteit van het mes. Al met al is het een fantastisch en vooral heel comfortabel mes.
