I use the Temperance Trainer for practising Systema (http://www.russianmartialart.com/) The knife is well finished in functional terms. The blade shows slight vertical marks. The weapon has no sharp edges. The rounded tip is wider than the blade itself, which makes the weapon safer during training. At the same time, the tip remains easy to feel. The combination of these two points makes the weapon particularly suitable for sensitivity drills. The handle is ergonomically shaped, which means it sits well in the hand in both a natural grip and a sabre grip. Only in reverse grip does the hold feel a little unnatural. The knife is easy to recognise as a training knife thanks to the red colour of the handle. Even when the hands are sweaty, it still sits well in the hand, since the handle does not become slippery. The Kydex sheath comes with a rather substantial adjustable clip, although it is easy to remove. The sheath material itself becomes soft when you steam hot water over it. This makes it easy to achieve a good fit between knife and sheath. As a result, the weapon sits firmly in the sheath, yet is still easy to draw. All in all, a functional and particularly good training weapon.
