The **WE Knife Slipstream** is a slim and tough pocket knife with a unique blade. Designer Simon Crafts definitely outdid himself with this design. We rarely come across a knife with such a unique design that still looks modest.


The blade is made from CPM S35VN steel. A stainless powdered type of steel that is made in the United States. The contours of the blade are amazing, but it gets interesting when you look at the grind. The pointed droppoint shaped blade has namely been enhanced with a *compound grind*. This means that one side of the blade is thinner than the other: around the tip it has a flat grind, towards the handle you will find a hollow grind. As such you can use another part of the blade for different cutting tasks. The hollow grind for *slicing*, the (stronger) part for tasks that require more strength.


Not only for the grind WE shows two techniques. The blade even has a *two-tone* finish. You open it with the flipper. Also a feature that is slightly different from what you might have seen before. Crafts has turned the flipper a quarter of a turn. As a result you change the way in which you transfer the momentum on the blade with your finger. To generate enough traction he has placed a sleek jimping on the flipper. The result is a flipper that barely stands out and functions really well. It might make you wonder why not many other manufacturers design the same type of flipper.


The WK714 Slipstream has been enhanced with ceramic ball bearings. Both around the pivot and in front of the detent ball. The titanium framelock is enriched with a steel insert. This prevents the lock from overstretching and wear and tear in the long run. As such the WE Knife 714 is guaranteed to have a long life.


Please note: WE Knife calls this version ‘Bronze’. We simply feel that the handle is black with bronze accents.

De "Slipstream" is een EDC-zakmes met een hoge designwaarde en bovendien heel stevig samengesteld. De prijs situeert zich in een hoger segment maar je krijgt er een mooi stuk vakwerk voor... Het zakmes is in verhouding tot het lemmet niet te groot en ook niet te zwaar. De gebruikte kogellagers zorgen ervoor dat het zakmes heel vlot opent en sluit.
