Best UK legal EDC I have bought. Lightweight, very deep pocket clip, scalpel sharp out of the box and the final blade positioning thwacks into place. The knife scarcely feels like a slip joint. VERY secure ‘lock up’ which needs a good push to disengage. Better than my Spyderco or Lansky. Nothing exotic about the blade steel but I’ve been using it daily for a couple of weeks and it’s still shaving hair off of my arm…good knife.

After reading and perusing through the plethora of EDC’s on the market, finally settled on the SOG. From out of the box you get a nicely constructed and well presented knife. The blade folds out with a solid click. Found I had to be particularly careful when folding the blade back on its first few uses. Quite tight and the blade as a serious edge. Overall I’m very satisfied with the SOG. It’s certainly not the most expensive but also puts cheaper knives to shame with its build quality. Knives & Tools were flawless with their service too.

I bought this for my son after falling in love with the black version I got a year ago. Solid, sharp blade. Light, not delicate. Firm slipjoint. Perfect UK EDC. And the boy likes it!

Sharp as hell. Great knife, holds in hand very naturally. There is one thing that can be seen as advantage or disadvantage - it really hard to close. There is no locking mechanism but it is built so good that one needs to use lots of strength to close it. Overall very good quality and excellent value for money.

Be aware I am NOT a knife expert. I wanted a UK legal knife that didn't look too flash, nondescript for general purpose use. Flatish and easy to keep in the pocket of a bag. General use is very unexciting, picnics, a bit of whittling, opening boxes, misusing the blade for for levering stuff etc etc. So how has it done? Great!! Its sturdier than it looks, the little lump sticking helps you to stop it closing (it does not lock which is not really allowed unless your using it as a proper tool I guess). Its a tough little thing, comfortable to hold for medium sized hands. GVFM.

Been thinking about getting one of these, and they went on sale on Black Friday so I bought one. It’s one of those knives I wish I’d got ages ago, and would happily of paid full price for. The knife feels good in hand, very grippy, the blade has good lock up, and was razor sharp out of the box. It does look a bit tactical, but the light coloured handle and plain steel blade look less so than the blackout version. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a durable UK EDC knife.

The Terminus truely exceeded my expectations. Admittedly my expectations of a SOG product weren’t high but it really is a well made, well designed two-hand opening budget slip-joint. CTS-BD1 is good for a poured steel alloy and an good budget alloy generally, offering competitive edge holding and sharpenability for a knife in this price sector. The blade is excellent, providing a substantial belly up front and a straight edge behind. The sharpening choil is just ever so slightly too far back, resulting in the tiniest hint of a recurve at the very back of the edge but that seems to have become the norm from all makes these days? The hollow grind is good and thin behind the edge, combining with the lack of thumb studs/disks to make for a very ‘slicey’ blade. Mine came properly sharpened, which is more than I can say for the average Benchmade costing 2 - 5 times as much. Blade centring is dead on, on my Terminus and there’s little to no discernible blade play. Spring tension is very well balanced and grabs the blade when open. There is no half stop which will put some people off but the blade doesn’t close too easily and crucially the guard is part of the blade, so if the blade tries to close on you the guard will stop on your index finger, preventing the edge from closing on your fingers. Additionally the tang is properly polished making opening and closing very smooth. The Terminus is truly ambidextrous, having a nail nick on both sides of the blade and the deep carry pocket clip can be moved left or right handed without leaving the screw holes that inexplicably bother some people, however the pocket clip can “hot spot” depending on your grip. The texturing on the G10 scales is excellent, providing excellent grip and inspiring confidence. The scales feel strong and durable in the hand. Over all this is, form my experience one of the best budget carry legal knives on the market. Yes you can get even better knives in exotic alloys but not at this price and it is subjectively my favourite knife in it’s sector. On the curve of diminishing returns it makes a strong case for a budget knife you can carry legally in countries with poorly judged, restrictive carry laws. My only real gripe is that it’s a pain to reassemble if you have to take it apart but it’s just fiddly thanks to the spring design and not the end of the world.

Bought in line with UK knife laws. Strongest slip joint ‘lock’ ever. Very secure in hand (textured scales), good control, my favourite blade shape. Edge retention good. Very deep pocket carry is superb. Clip needed opening up a little otherwise your jeans are toast due to the abrasive nature of the scales. My favourite all round UK EDC. Knives and Tools price was the lowest. Service A1.

I am very pleased with my new Knife, it's for EDC purposes in the UK and came sharp out of the box. The way the blade snaps open you would almost think it is as a lock knife, which it isn't of course. The blade is just under the legal limit for length and looks really good. The handle is grippy with a good texture to it, feels light in the hand and it has good jimping on the blade, very secure to hold when using. I also had the optional engraving on the blade which looks fantastic. I must admit I found the engraving process difficult to understand, but managed to pick out a font I liked and left it to their engraver as to the position and size of lettering, it turned out really good. This is my first knife purchase ever ! I know zero about knives but this is a good start to something bigger I hope. Had a good shop and found everything from ordering to delivery a really straight forward process, with emails from them throughout. I can recommend the SOG Terminus and Knives and Tools are a great company to deal with. Will definitely be placing another order in the near future.
