Tenable Knives was officially introduced in 2024 as the budget brand of Kansept Knives, as announced on BladeForums on May 29, 2024. This was finally confirmed on 26 June 2024 Inspired by brands like Civivi under WE Knife, Kansept's vision was to create a separate entry-level line to make high-quality designs accessible to a wider audience without diluting the quality of Kansept itself.

## Kenmerken van de ESEE Izula 

### ESEE Izula: het lemmet 

Net als zijn grotere broers is de Izula in vrijwel alle gevallen gemaakt van 1095-koolstofstaal, die ESEE veel gebruikt voor z’n messen. Niet roestvast, wel erg goed bestand tegen zware belasting. Misschien wel net zo belangrijk: 1095 is ook erg makkelijk te slijpen. Hierdoor kun je in het veld met relatief beperkte middelen je mes toch weer scherp slijpen. De geweldige gebruikseigenschappen van het staal staan garant voor een leven lang plezier. 

 

### ESEE Izula: de handgreep 

De full-tang handgreep is voorzien van fraaie micarta-delen. Hij ligt hiermee subliem in de hand en hou je grip zelfs in de meest vochtige omstandigheden. De handgreep heeft een grote ring die het makkelijk maakt een stuk paracord of zelfs een karabiner doorheen te haken. Veel Izula's komen zonder greepdelen en kun je voorzien van een paracord-wrap. Dit is een methode waar jeeen paracord gebruikt om de handgreep te maken. Deze kan in een noodsituatie gebruikt kan worden als extra touw voor het maken van bijvoorbeeld een tent of vishengel. 

 

### ESEE Izula: jij kiest hem uit 

Leuk aan de ESEE Izula is dat hij in zoveel verschillende kleuren verkrijgbaar is. Van bekende messenkleuren als zwart en olijfgroen, tot felroze en paars. Daarnaast kies je zelf of je hem met handgrepen gebruikt, met een zelf geknoopte paracord wrap of zelfs helemaal kaal. Maar ook de manier waarop je hem bij je draagt kies je zelf. Zo zijn er verschillende schedes verkrijgbaar en kun je voor die schedes ook nog eigen clips en dergelijke kiezen. Zo maak je de ESEE Izula echt jouw mes. 

 

## ESEE: vakmanschap met elk mes 

De messen van ESEE Knives hebben hun sterke, robuuste karakter te danken aan het vakmanschap tijdens het productieproces. De hittebehandeling van het staal is uitermate belangrijk voor de uiteindelijke eigenschappen van het mes. ESEE Knives heeft dit proces als geen ander in de vingers. Hierdoor is breuk van het staal een bijna niet voorkomend verschijnsel. Natuurlijk is ieder mes kapot te krijgen, maar in de dagelijkse en harde praktijk laat een ESEE-mes je niet in de steek.

Let’s start with a small introductory round. Who is this Joe Caswell? Joe Caswell is a famous American knife maker known for his innovative ideas and top-quality handmade knives. Ever since 1995 Caswell has been a full-time knife maker with quite the fan base. Not that surprising really. When you look at his knives you will be amazed by the interesting mechanisms and remarkable designs. This cooperation with CRKT gives anyone the opportunity to get their hands on a real Caswell design!


## The CRKT Provoke and the Kinematic technology


First things first, what is the Provoke made from? CRKT used D2 steel for the blade, a robust type of steel that retains its sharpness well. It is therefore also great to see that CRKT will use this type of steel a lot more in 2019. As some of you might already know, however, is that D2 is not the most corrosion resistant type of steel. Fortunately CRKT found the perfect solution for that! The blade has been enhanced with a titanium nitride finish to make sure the blade is extra corrosion resistant. This is not only incredibly clever, it makes the knife look incredibly bad-ass. The handle is made from aluminium and weighs next to nothing.


The best aspect of the CRKT Provoke is the Kinematic technology used to open the knife. Normally a karambit is a fixed or folding knife which closes. The Provoke is neither. The blade slides forward when opened. Incredibly innovative! But why select this mechanism in the first place? Considering the fact that no one can explain this mechanism better than the designer himself we made an exclusive video starring Joe Caswell and the Provoke. Enjoy!

## The Kershaw Antic, our favourite


One of the new models that really stands out is the Antic. This pocket knife is related to the very popular Kershaw Shuffle. A wonderful EDC knife with an unbeatable price-quality ratio. Kershaw took another look at the Shuffle and built on the design elements that make the Kershaw Shuffle so special. With the Antic we can see that, like with the shuffle, the back of the handle functions as a bottle opener and crowbar. Kershaw once again used this popular combination in the design of the Antic by means of the karambit style ring at the back of the handle. The inside of the ring is enhanced with a small tab and functions as a bottle opener, while the protruding piece at the outside of the ring functions as a pry bar.
