The Autine Hunting Knife is a nice and large hunting knife. Made by hand in a small workshop in Latvia. A stylish and amazing-looking knife, which also excels in terms of functionality. The blade is long enough to deal with larger game. The pointed tip is perfect for the more detailed tasks. The large belly is great when gutting game.
The blade is made from D2-steel, hardened up to 62HRC. And the heat treatment is something Autine is famous for. You can use amazing steel, but if it isn't hardened properly the entire knife is worthless. Autine's D2 steel retains its sharpness well. Something you can expect from 62HRC. At the same time the blade is tough enough to not break or 'chip'. The mirror polish finish completes the whole. Not only stunning, it also reduces the cutting resistance. The edge is razor-sharp. Something Autine is famous for.
The handle is made from rosewood. A stunning type of wood. In this case enhanced with a couple layers of brass, leather and nickel silver. The shape might look a little simple at first, when you hold it you feel it was carefully thought through. The finger groove at the front of the handle ensures that your hand cannot go anywhere when you hold it.
The Autine Hunting Knife comes with a leather sheath. It is relatively flexible and will take the shape of the knife after some time.
