The **Benchmade 531 Axis Pardue** is a slim and light-weight pocket knife. The first thing you notice is the grey/black striped pattern in the G10 handle. If you lift the knife you will immediately notice how light it is. 60 grams is not a lot for a knife that is large enough to easily can handle most daily tasks. Everyone will be able to use this knife. It is easy to use by both left and right-handed users.

 The blade can be opened with one hand with the help of the thumb stud and is locked by means of the, by Benchmade frequently added, axis lock. The droppoint shaped blade is made from the popular steel called 154CM. A good type of steel that retains its sharpness well. This version of the Benchmade Pardue has a tough black blade with perfectly matches the black in the G10 handle.

Lang voor er sprake was van de Bugout bestond deze al, en ik vind 'em minstens even goed. Een tikje zwaarder (maar zo weinig dat het absoluut geen hinder vormt, je merkt niet dat je deze op zak hebt tot je hem nodig hebt), de greep is steviger dankzij de G10 en ziet er ook nog prachtig uit, perfecte vorm van het lemmet! Enige minpuntjes misschien: de duimschijven zijn iets anders van vorm dan gebruikelijk en moet je even aan wennen, en de pocket clip had ik liever 'deep carry' gezien maar al bij al zeer tevreden! Mel Pardue ontwierp ook de Griptilian en mini-Griptilian, dit ontwerp van hem vind ik minstens even indrukwekkend.
