This Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 550-1 has a grey G10 handle and its small dimensions make it very suitable for people with smaller hands. The knife is nice and small but has the solid quality we have come to know by Benchmade. Steel liners, the famous axis lock, and a blade of 20CV-steel make this a perfect knife for everyday use. The sheepfoot blade features a thumb hole for lightning-fast opening. Both lefties and righties can work with this knife perfectly.
This Griptillian has a blade of CPM 20CV-steel. This grade is equal to CTS-204P and Böhler M390 steel. It is one of the most coveted steels of the moment. It stays sharp for a long time, is stainless and extremely hard. It is a bit trickier to sharpen (we recommend diamond stones) but once it is sharp it stays sharp for a long long time!

I was expecting so much from this knife yet find it really disappointing. Benchmade have managed to make the G10 scales feel & look cheap. The Spyderco style blade opening hole sits to low into the handle and its use irritates compared to a Paramilitary 2 for example. The blade shape and thickness is good. The locking mechanism although championed by many reviewers feels loose and too easy to operate. I prefer a tip down pocket clip & due to the lock release Benchmade aren't able to include this option. Overall I am very disappointed with the Griptilians quality and feel.
