The Buck 101 Hunter is the fixed edition of the famous 110 Folding Hunter. The 110 is perhaps the most sold American pocket knife ever. So it is not that strange that Buck also made a fixed edition of this knife.
The shape and the materials are for the most part similar. The same clippoint blade from 420 HC steel. Hardened according to the beloved Paul Bos recipe. Messing bolsters and a handle made from Macassar Ebony Diamond wood. A laminated type of wood that is stronger than pure wood. Only the bolster at the end of the handle is missing from this fixed hunting knife. Not something you will notice when it comes to balance: the tipping point is located exactly where your middle finger rests below the handle.
The only difference is that the 101 Hunter doesn’t close. Anyone who goes out in the field to hunt can confirm that it is a lot easier to clean after use.
To carry the Buck 110 Hunter with you, you can use the leather sheath. This sheath has been enhanced with a belt loop (max. belt width of 6.5 cm).
