Cold Steel SRK Compact 49LCKDDEBK, Dark Earth, survival knife

I bought the SRK-C as a more compact version of my full size SRK which I have many years. This compact version lives up to my expectations as just a slightly more compact version of its big brother for a fraction of the price. The knife on delivery has a liberal amount of oil on the blade to protect the high carbon steel from corrosion, but it is absolutely razor sharp out of the box and has a very precise and needle sharp tip with a tough black finish on the blade. In use this knife mainly for slicing which it is well suited to cleaning of deer and general camp work where I find it to be quite nimble and retains its grip very well even when wet. The sheath retains the knife securely even without the button clasp and has plenty of utility for attachment to gear, or belt hanging options. I have researched videos on YouTube where this knife has been hammered through industry standard tests... (torture tests) and it stands up extremely well except perhaps for the tip - but only if the knife is abused. I highly recommend this knife, it is exceptional value for money and Knives and Tools customer service is second to none.
