The **Laguiole en Aubrac Gourmet chef's knife olive wood 25 cm** is a large, elegant and versatile handmade kitchen knife. The large 'belly' and pointed tip of the blade stand out. Thanks to this shape, there's a lot of cutting edge for you to work with. The narrow edge towards the tip is perfect for the more detailed tasks. This knife was made by hand in Espalion, France.

## Laguiole en Aubrac Gourmet: stainless steel blade

The blade is made from stainless 12c27 Sandvik steel. A type of steel with a relatively high carbon content making the knife razor-sharp and rock-solid. Nevertheless, it isn't a steel that is prone to rust or get ugly spots. It's also easy to sharpen if the knife starts to lose some of its sharpness over time.

## Laguiole en Aubrac Gourmet: handle made from olive wood

Versatility is, of course, key, but design is also important. The handle is made from olive wood, This is a hard type of wood that doesn't just look beautiful, it's also highly resistant to moisture. Great for use in the kitchen. The handle is enhanced with additional decorations. The bolster, the part in between the handle and blade is nicely embellished and looks amazing. 

On top, you will find the characterizing Laguiole bee. The spine of the handle is embellished with file work that was applied by hand and the scales are attached with rivets. In the middle of the handle these rivets are shaped like a shepherd's cross. This cross refers to the legend of catholic shepherds who, during their crusades to Spain, wanted to pray far away from a church or chapel. They put the knife in the ground to say a prayer, with the cross facing towards them.
