About the Le Creuset Tradition tea kettles
With a Le Creuset tea kettle you bring home a top-quality product. Each kettle is enhanced with a vintage look and it contains the cooking qualities Le Creuset is known for. The Tradition kettles are made from steel and have an enamel in and outside. As such stains are easy to remove and scratches are hardly visible.
The tea kettles from the Tradition collection have enough room for 2.1 litres of water. You can easily fill the kettle by removing the wide lid. Via the large opening you can easily fill, rinse off or clean the kettle. Another great aspect of the kettle is that it can be used on all cooking hobs, including induction.
With a cheerful whistle, this kettle lets you know that the water is boiling. Time to remove the kettle from the stove. At that moment the cold grip is a great solution. It ensures that you can immediately remove the kettle from the stove. We do recommend you use an oven glove just in case. After all, the boiling water can splash when you pour it.
Maintenance and use
Before use you need to remove the labels and packaging. Also make sure you clean the kettle with warm water. Afterwards bring pure water to a boil and pour out the contents after it starts to boil. Make sure the kettle is never filled further than the line on the outside of the kettle. However, to prevent the kettle from boiling dry you do need to fill it up to at least the bottom row of 'dots' on the inside of the kettle. Boiling it dry can damage the kettle or cooking hob, something you want to avoid at all costs.
Always select the right heat source and temperature when boiling water. When using a stove make sure that the flames never reach further than the base of the kettle. After removing the kettle from the cooking hob make sure you wait 5 or 10 seconds before you open the whistle. You need to allow the kettle to completely cool down before you boil more water. These kettles are namely not equipped to handle that difference in temperature. If you don't use the kettle we recommend you empty it and dry it properly. This prevents calcification and keeps the kettle working efficiently.
