You immediately notice that the luxurious **Masering King corkscrew** is made from only top-quality materials.  The all-metal corkscrew feels solid and heavy. In addition, the design looks stylish and the King corkscrew comes in a luxury gift box. The corkscrew is made by hand from brass and enhanced with a satin finish. The model is a replica of a 19th century London Rack corkscrew.

## Based on classic design

The King corkscrew is a replica of a classic 19th century design: the so-called Sidewinder or London Rack corkscrew. This type of corkscrew was designed by William Lund around 1860. He produced the corkscrew in London and it is a ‘rack and pinion mechanism’. Hence the name London Rack.

The corkscrew works with a rack and pinion mechanism. Turn the handle clockwise at the top. This causes the spiral to pierce the cork. Afterwards, turn the handle on the side to take it out. The advantage of this mechanism is that you don't have to apply any force yourself to get the cork out of the bottle. 

## Corkscrew with unique patina

When you use the corkscrew, the steel will start to form a patina after a while. This is a natural, superficial discoloration of the surface of the metal. The patina enhances the classic feel of the corkscrew. As the patina forms in a unique way, your corkscrew will become unique as well!

## Maserin and Farfalli

The King corkscrew is supplied by Maserin, but made by Farfalli. Therefore, the corkscrew is marked with both brand names. Both brands are located in Maniago, Italy. It is a village known worldwide for its various cutlery and knife companies. Farfalli also started producing pocket knives and cutlery in 1950. In the 1970s, however, the demand for corkscrews became so great that they started to focus on these stunning tools.
