The **Microplane Classic Zester** is perfect when grating citrus fruits, hard cheese, garlic and chocolate. The handle of this grater is reasonably coarse. As such it won't easily slip from your hands. Not even when it is wet. The end of the blade contains small rubber feet. These ensure that the grater won't slip during use. They also make sure scratches do not occur. 

The graters from the Microplane Premium Classic collection are more compact than those from other collections from the same brand. As such they are also great for use at the table, when, for instance, you want to add some cheese to your pasta. The Funky Spring Flower is a special edition of the Microplane Classic Zester. The handle is enhanced with a cheerful flower pattern. 

## What do you use the Microplane Zester for?

The Microplane Zester is great when grating citrus fruits. It has got the perfect depth for grating lemons without ending up with the bitter parts of the lemon. The Microplane Zester produces spiky zest, compared to a fine grater. A grater namely produces zest with a powder structure. 

In addition to citrus fruits you can also use the zester to grate hard cheese, garlic, shallots, ginger and chocolate.

The blade of the Microplane Zester is made from top-quality stainless steel. The razor-sharp edges easily cut through both hard and soft food, without it tearing or shredding.

## Maintenance and storage

After using the Microplane Zester we recommend rinsing it off with warm water, and removing any residue from the blade. The Microplane Zester is dishwasher proof. Please note: the reusable cover is not dishwasher proof. You can use this plastic cover when you store the grater. It ensures you won't cut yourself and that the grater stays in great shape.
