The **Rick Hinder XM-18 3.5**" Vintage is a special version of the well-known Hinder XM18. For this special version Hinderer became inspired by his love for firearms. The wood that is used for the handle of weapons, combined with the classic tool steel for the blade. A Vintage edition of an incredibly modern pocket knife. A top-quality work knife. The finish is simply perfect; grip wherever you might need it and curved wherever possible. It feels amazing in hand. When opened, the flipper will keep your fingers away from the edge. So during the more demanding cutting jobs, you never have to worry about slipping and ending up on the blade.

 The skinner blade is made from O1 tool steel. Not stainless, but tough and easy to sharpen. With the right heat treatment, it is a great type of steel to work with. In between the flipper and the edge you can find a finger choil. This allows you to have more control over the blade during the more precise cutting tasks. It also looks really cool.

 You easily open the XM18 with the (double) thumb studs, or with the flipper. With a small wrist movement you can easily open the blade. Ball bearings ensure that the knife opens smoothly. Teflon washers and phosphor bronze washers are also included. This is the Hinderer Tri-Way pivot system.

 When opened, a solid frame lock ensures that the blade stays in place. A characteristic detail for Hinderer is the *lockbar stabilizer*. This is a round disc on the side of the titanium handle. It ensures that you cannot overstretch the lock. This Gen6 edition is also enhanced with a steel lockbar insert. You can keep the XM-18 close with the titanium pocket clip. This tip-down is mounted on the right side, but with a Phillips-head screwdriver you can easily turn it into a tip-up.

 The Rick Hinderer philosophy is: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. For that reason Hinderer Knives are made to be used. This XM-18 is the perfect example. This Vintage edition has a unique serial number, starting with a V.
