This relatively small**black Wüsthof plastic cutting board** is incredibly practical to use. It is small, thin and lightweight. As such it is easy to use, won't take up too much room and is easy to store. The grooves around the edge of the cutting board ensure that moisture won't end up on your counter tops. 

The cutting board is made from TPU. Thermoplastic Polyurethane. Compared to 'normal' plastic cutting boards, TPU has some big advantages: it's scratch-resistant, flexible, and it doesn't absorb odours or flavours. The material has a little give during use, so it doesn't scratch as easily, and it ensures that your knives stay sharp. Do keep in mind that a sharpened knife is always sharper than plastic. Therefore, small cuts can still occur.

## Advantages of a plastic cutting board

This plastic cutting board from Wüsthof has a number of advantages over wooden cutting boards. For instance, it can go in the dishwasher! That doesn't apply to wooden cutting boards. In addition, a plastic cutting board is much easier to maintain. The board doesn't have to be dried straight after use, and you don't have to treat it with oil periodically.
