The **Zero Tolerance 0055BRZ** is a remarkable pocket knife, designed by Gustavo Cecchini of GTC-design. Not only does this pocket knife look amazing, it has also been enhanced with a remarkable openings mechanism. After all, you can open it with a flipper. Nothing new, you could say. However, the flipper on the 0055BRZ is slightly different. After all, it folds away with a spring when the knife is opened. When closed a spring will also keep the flipper out of sight. First you pull the flipper out a bit, through the tension of the spring, after which it will work like a regular flipper. Cecchini called it the SLT-system.

 It makes the knife look a little like a type *of Transformer* The blade is made from CPM S35VN-steel. A powder metallurgical steel that is free of corrosion and retains its sharpness very well. Cecchini designed the blade with a compound grind. This means that the back half of the blade is thicker than the front half. As such you use the back half for things that require more force and the front part for the detailed jobs.

 The handle is milled out of titanium. Here you can also find the characteristic geometric Cecchini lines. Even the pivot has been adorned with a nice finish. Even though it has a lot of straight lines and sharp angles it still feels great in hand. Facets and grip ridges were placed in just the right places. A well thought-out design.

Een erg opvallend design. Je moet er van houden. De geveerde flipper is een leuke touch. Het mes heeft zelfs voor ZT begrippen een fantastisch afwerkingsniveau. Qua design is ook nergens op bespaard inclusief het uithollen van de titanium gripschalen om gewicht te besparen. Een andere leuke feature waar je bijna in geen enkele review iets over hoort is dat het mes geen stoppin heeft in plaats daarvan loopt de behuizing van de geveerde flipper door een uitsparing in de titanium schaal waar die uitsparing ophoudt wordt het lemmet automatisch geblokkeerd. Ik kan me voorstellen dat dit lastig voorvte stellen is, bekijk op Youtube anders even het filmpje van de man die hem uit elkaar haalt, dan wordt meteen duidelijk wat ik bedoel. 

De ZT0055 trekt vooral de aandacht vanwege het opvallende lemmet maar heeft een aantal minder direct opvsllende features zoals hierboven omschreven die er voor zorgen dat het mes behoorlijk uniek is ten opzichte van de andere modellen van ZT.

Ik ben daarom een grote liefhebber van de 0055 en zou hem elke verzamelaar aanbevelen.
