550 paracord is ideal for all sorts of applications, for example, for making a lanyard or wrist strap. It was originally developed for paratroopers of the U.S.. Army, and is now an indispensable tool for outdoor lovers. 


The number 550 in the name stands for the tensile force of 550 pounds (about 250 kg) which the chord can withstand. Within the nylon outer jacket, you find a core consisting of 7 thin strands. If the paracord is too thick for the application and the maximum tensile force is not needed, then it is possible to remove this core. The thin strands from the core can even be used as stitching material, in case of absolute need. We have not yet tested this ourselves! 


Paracord is available in many colours. On the internet there is an endless amount of instruction video's to find how you can make beautiful lanyards or bracelets of Paracord.

Sehr gute Qualität. Stabiler und fester Außenmantel. Für feste und griffige Lanyards eine gute Wahl! Ich habe schon weniger festes Paracord eines anderen Herstellers und Versands verwendet bei dem der Außenmantel sehr locker war. Die daraus geknüpften Lanyards waren daher etwas "wabbelig" - das ist hier nicht der Fall... Paracords unterschiedlicher Hersteller lassen sich übrigens manchmal NICHT miteinander verschmelzen!

Over de kwaliteit van paracord valt niets nieuws te vertellen. Topkwaliteit ! Het leuke aan dit type is dat het touw subtiel opvalt. Vb je wasdraad in het bos valt door de zwarte kleur niet op maar het reflexterend grijs is duidelijk aanwezig 's nachts om er met je hoofd niet tegen te stoten. Het vallen over de spantouwen van de tent is daarmee ook serieus verbeterd. Ik heb er ook nieuwe vetersvoor mijn stapschoenen van gemaakt.

Kwaliteit zoals bekend en het reflecteert ook erg goed.
