30,5 (100 ft) metres of the famous 550 paracord, type III

550 paracord is ideal for all sorts of applications, for example, for making a lanyard or wrist strap. It was originally developed for paratroopers of the U.S.. Army, and is now an indispensable tool for outdoor lovers. 


The number 550 in the name stands for the tensile force of 550 pounds (about 250 kg) which the chord can withstand. Within the nylon outer jacket, you find a core consisting of 7 thin strands. If the paracord is too thick for the application and the maximum tensile force is not needed, then it is possible to remove this core. The thin strands from the core can even be used as stitching material, in case of absolute need. We have not yet tested this ourselves! 


Paracord is available in many colours. On the internet there is an endless amount of instruction video's to find how you can make beautiful lanyards or bracelets of Paracord.

Ik maak hiermee zelf mijn lanyards vermits die van de zaklampen meestal niet van de beste kwaliteit zijn. Ook mijn mes heeft een lanyard gekregen en ook mijn SOG tomahawk.  De kleur vind ik ook meegenomen.

Paracord type III is er een betere dan???
Ben het nog niet tegen gekomen.
Handig voor allerlei klussen zoals hutten bouwen een vlot maken en niet te vergeten leuk om sierknopen te maken bijv. de
Apenvuist.
Licht en sterk neem het altijd mee in mijn rugzak (standaard uitrusting)
