The **Adler Super Splitter** is a real beast. It has an incredibly broad, heavy head that bites into the wood with great force. So you can split your big blocks in no time. The axe is made entirely in Germany. It comes with a sturdy leather sheath.

## The head of the Adler Super Splitter

The head is forged from C60 steel. This is a hard carbon steel that is still easy to sharpen. The shape of the axe head immediately catches your eye. It is quite broad and wedge-shaped, so it drives the wood apart well. The head has a transparent coating that protects the steel from rusting. This coating will wear off with repeated use. Therefore, always store your axe dry. 

## The handle of the Adler Super Splitter

The handle is made from American Hickory wood. This type of wood absorbs blows well. Very important for an axe! There is a metal overstrike guard just behind the head. This protects the handle if you hit a little too far. The handle has a layer of non-slip paint that makes it very pleasant to hold. All the paint Adler uses is completely water-based. Which is good for the environment, and for everyone at Adler who makes these axes. **Be careful when opening the box.** Adler fills the packaging with the leftover material from making the axe handles. Very sustainable! And easy to reuse, for example as tinder. This does mean that sawdust can fall out of the box when you open it. So open it carefully.
