The Bark River BRKCA 2017 Special Edition Knife is a cool fixed knife designed by Mike Stewart from Bark River. This knife was made for the BRKCA: Bark River Knives Collectors Association. This group of collectors has united and each year Bark River produces a knife for them. We are fortunate enough to be able to sell a couple of these Limited Edition knives from 2017. Be there quickly because they are only available while stocks last.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won't break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by stropping it.
The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances. In the front the handle is complemented by a nice brass bolster.
The Bark River BRKCA 2017 comes with a nice leather belt sheath (max. belt width 5.0 cm).
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
