This **Benchmade Griptilian 551-191 Gold Class 2019 limited edition** is a special version of the world famous Griptilian. Each year Benchmade selects a product and replaces all of it with top-quality materials. The Gold Class is for Benchmade a way of showing what they are capable of. These knives are made by Benchmade's most skilled craftsmen. This special Gold Class Griptilian is one of the coolest of the Gold Class to date.

 For this Gold Class Griptilian, Benchmade used Damasteel for the blade enhanced with an organic Fjäril pattern. You can open the blade with the blue anodized thumb rest. Once opened, the blade is held securely in place by the well-known Axis lock, which is finished with a DLC coating. In addition to the thumb rest, Benchmade has added the number of this limited edition. The knife is enhanced with a grey G10 handle with blue liners that offers a lot of grip. The standoffs, like the thumb stud, are enhanced with a blue anodized finish. In short, a breath-taking combination of top-quality materials. Without a doubt one of the most beautiful Griptilians ever produced!

Gekocht bij "Have a knives day" (voor herhalling vatbaar). Het licht nu een maand later nog op mijn werkplek: het is mooi. Het is ook extreem scherp: de snede is spigelend (scherend en ik kan me zelf erin zien). Ik heb verschillende andere gold class messen van Benchmade(dit is 27/200)  maar dit is weer een klasse hoger.

Openen kan snel met de duimsteuntjes, maar veel sneller door het mes mes de axislock te ontgrendelen. Het mes heeft hier voor ook lekker wat massa in het lemmet.

Mooie afwerking, wel zwaarder dan normaal  door grootte. Het is echter licht door carbon fiber (een aantal andere bezoekers vonden het erg licht aanvoelen, ik heb misschien wat te veel lichte carbon fiber messen in mijn verzameling).
